Forse non tutti Conoscono questo incredibile programma per realizzare immagini e filmati in 3d, blender è un software nativo per linux (madisponibile anche per gli utenti windows) e sopratutto è completamente gratis.

inoltre periodicamente, per dimostrare le potenzialità di questo software, gli sviluppatori, realizzano dei cortometraggi davvero molto interessanti

Sintel (2010)

Project Durian was the third Open Movie, which started in september 2009 and premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival end of september 2010.
With a much larger team and bigger budget, the targets were very ambitious, resulting in a 15 minute short film that has found much acclaim on the web. Especially story telling and editing has been paid much attention to.

Development targets mainly focused on getting Blender 2.5 more stable and usable, getting sculpting tools improved, efficient detail rendering and Global Illumination rendering.

Big Buck Bunny (2008)

Project Peach, the second Open Movie, started in October 2007 and premiered April 2008. Target this time was to create good hair/fur editing and rendering, more advanced support for cartoonish characters, and solve complexity in rendering outdoors environments with grass, trees and leaves.

Big Buck Bunny was the first project in the Blender Institute Amsterdam. This 10 minute movie has been made inspired by the best cartoon tradition. A giant rabbit finds his happy sunny morning walk being disturbed by three rascal rodents. In a comical grand finale he gets even with them.

Elephants Dream (2006)

Project Orange, the first Open Movie, started in September 2005 and premiered end of March 2006. The ambitions and targets for Orange were set very high, the character animation system had to be fully recoded, the rendering system needed a lot of upgrades, and most of all: a node-based Compositor was required.

Elephants Dream was co-produced with the Netherlands Media Art Institute, who challenged the team to explore an abstract concept and storyline. This 10 minute short shows two people who explore a strange mechanical world, with each an entire own perception on what’s actually there. The emotional ending shows once more the violent impact of mixing reality and fantasy.

Kiwix è un software libero (e gratuito) per leggere non in linea dei contenuti web; gira su Windows, Mac OS X e GNU/Linux. È pensato per leggere Wikipedia in assenza di una connessione a internet da un archivio ZIM, un formato aperto ad alta compressione che sa gestire anche immagini e metadati aggiuntivi.

Lo sviluppo di Kiwix è indipendente da Wikimedia, ma Wikimedia ha collaborato ad alcuni miglioramenti e l’ha reso il “lettore non in linea” ufficiale per Wikipedia e per gli altri progetti. Fra le sue caratteristiche, vi sono:

  • interfaccia interamente in italiano;
  • visualizzazione ottimizzata per la navigazione non in linea;
  • ricerca intelligente a tutto testo;
  • possibilità di salvare le pagine in HTML o PDF;
  • possibilità di aggiungere le pagine ai preferiti e di annotarle.

Puoi cominciare a usarlo immediatamente:

  1. Scarica Kiwix e Wikipedia in italiano per Windows o Linux (versione 0.9, testi 2013, 16 GiB; alternativa via torrent, raccomandata); decomprimi l’archivio zip dove vuoi; fai clic sull’eseguibile “kiwix” nella cartella kiwix o kiwix-linux e comincia a navigare.
  2. Oppure, scarica Kiwix per il tuo sistema operativo e i testi di Wikipedia in italiano (14 GiB, dalla Wikimedia Foundation; alternativa torrent, raccomandata); installa Kiwix; eseguilo; apri l’archivio ZIM dal menu File, o trascinandolo su Kiwix; comincia pure a navigare, ma lancia anche l’indicizzazione per poter usare la ricerca a tutto testo in seguito (può richiedere qualche ora, ma è solo per questa volta).

Ora che hai Kiwix, puoi anche usarlo per leggere i libri di Wikipedia o le tue personali selezioni di voci create con la funzione “Crea un libro” nella barra laterale (il formato ZIM è il più compresso disponibile), nonché scaricare molte altre fonti di informazione dalla lista automatica nella linguetta “Ottieni nuovi file”.
